First time I've ever been to this establishment, located on the Ewa side of Maunakea Street at the corner of Pauahi Street. My primary reason to go is because I was in need of some won ton noodle soup and I knew they made it here. It was a bit busy (it's a small place) so I was able to put in my order (I asked for gai lan & the gentleman behind the counter said they may have won bok, but asked the kitchen & they only had cabbage). Only had to wait about 5 minutes and was on my way home. The noodles were Hong Kong style (skinny but firm), the won ton delicious and the broth delicious. They included a small container of hot chili oil which I added to the soup for a bit of heat. This place will become my go-to for this soup from now on. PS I was so hungry that I forgot to take a photo but I did capture the outside for folks who haven't been here yet.

I love this place! Food is consistently fast and delish! So glad they have an online ordering system--ordered when I parked my car, did my chinatown shopping, then picked up my take out on the way back to my car. Perfect! I feel like I get more food dining in, but it's still deliciously awesome. Highly recommend any of the funn with a little hot sauce. Jook is great too. One thing to note--best to eat fresh. Don't save it for later.

I've been coming to this restaurant for over six years now not sure how long they've been there, but this place is incredible Luckily, during Covid, they did shift over to online ordering, which is fantastic Post Covid downtown Honolulu does not have a five day work on site requirement for companies online during lunch is no longer common place which is fantastic Came here on a weekday during lunchtime and was seated immediately, which was great saw alot of the pick up orders and take out orders as well You come here because you want authentically good delicious food at a very fair price with very good portions. You do not come here because you care about ambience or service. Although I will say service, the usual kind, friendly service, but it is very quick to the point. This is a true staple and gem in Honolulu downtown and or Chinatown eating.

Great place to have breakfast after work. Fast service & small but quant dine-in Hong Kong style cuisine restaurant. Street parking or you could park in the municipal parking nearby. - Chow Cheong Fun w/ beef, tendon, & veggies 10/10. Asked them if they did stir fried Cheong fun & they did! So added all the toppings. Chewy and savory stir fried Cheong fun with super tender beef and melt in your mouth tendon. Veggies are crunchy & not bitter. Would definitely get this everytime I go here. - Won ton 8/10. Simple wonton with tons of filling & soft, chewy skin. Love the veggies on the bottom too. - Chinese fried donut 10/10. Must get! So crispy and addicting!! Ordered another round of this because it was just THAT GOOD. I could literally order only this and be happy. Outside is hella crispy & inside is soft. Pairs well with the jook and just by itself! Other friends got the Century egg jook & look fun roll. I didn't taste it but they seemed to enjoy it a lot & get it every time they come here.

After I had finished eating at a Vietnamese restaurant on Maunakea Street, I noticed a line outside Lam's Kitchen made up of elderly Chinese people. I immediately knew that I had to give them a try and I'm very glad that I did. The first time I ate there, my Chinese friend from the Ferrari club and his wife were picking up a takeout order. The second time I went there, my wife's Chinese cousin was eating there with his wife. Now you know that it's got to be good and it's got to be a good deal. What makes Lam's Kitchen special is that they make their own look fun (wide) noodles daily. Fresh made noodles makes a world of difference! Overall: ***** Recommended ***** Food: ***** Value: ***** Menu: **** Ambiance: *** Service: **** Parking: **** (municipal lot behind) RATINGS & RECOMMENDED ORDER: Beef Flank & Tendon Look Fun = A Won Ton Look Fun = A Choy Sum & Fish Filet Chow Fun = B (more to come) Website: https://lamskitchenhawaii.com/ Yelp: https://yelp.to/rZfp8sQf9l YELP: Sorry! THE BEST BEEF CHOW FUN IN THE US (and overall, just amazing Cantonese food). I got recommended this spot from some friends as the "best beef chow fun in the US" that they've ever had (as Chinese immigrants), and I can see why they said this. When you first enter the shop, it is fairly small and can feel a bit crowded, but once you get a seat it'll be fine! They have a fairly diverse menu, and I wanted to try it all but I ended up just getting the beef chow fun and the beef look fun with wontons (as an add-on) as it was just my boyfriend and I. They serve hot tea, if you ask and helps wash down any feeling of oiliness from the food. The food comes out fairly fast, and in huge portions (I definitely wouldn't have been able to finish one by myself). And simply put, both dishes were phenomenal. There was the saucy and smoky flavor that I LOVE in beef chow fun, and the meat was plentiful. In the beef look fun, the noodles were chewy, the broth was comforting, and the wontons were amazing. Overall, a big comfort food spot, and one of my favorites on the island now. I highly highly recommend coming here if you love Chinese food, it is truly a hidden gem.

Lam's kitchen is a wonderful treat for those looking for beef and tendon soup made with freshly made Look Fun and sprigs of Choi sum. The broth is simply delicious. Beef and tendon is offered in soup, on rice or with another type of noodle. Menu offerings are very tempting! There is even fish in look fun soup! Usually there is a line out the door. Lots of pickups via phone call or online ordering. Many of the customers speak Cantonese? They know the secret! This is a great place! I've recommended many friends to visit this wonderful restaurant. Worth the trip to Chinatown. Located in the first block at the beginning of Maunakea St. Lots of parking lots nearby! Having arthritis pain, I feel so good and healthy after a bowl of this soup!

Lam's Kitchen is a family favorite featuring noodle soup that leaves you feeling satisfied without the bloat of your typical salty dive into a pool of Ajinomoto. The menu has a wide range of dishes with all sorts of protein giving you plenty to choose from. Try the soy milk (available to go too) for extra fun and flavor. It's not like your usual soy milk drink and leans closer to tofu. If you're familiar with soy milk in Japan, you might enjoy this take on soy milk. Parking is available on the street and a paid lot within a block from the restaurant. Be prepared to eat quickly. Service is fast and friendly. You'll just need to beat the crowd because this place gets packed around lunch time.

Arrived at around noon, and it was busy. We placed our names on the wait list and were seated within 10 minutes. Customers were arriving non-stop to either place a to-go order or wait to be seated. Hubs ordered the beef noodle soup and Chinese donuts. The donuts arrived first - hot and crispy. Good way to start the meal. Hubs enjoyed the noodles - soup was flavorful and beef was tender. I ordered the chow cheung (look) fun with wonton, but was told later they ran out of the look fun. So, it came with the chow fun instead. Took a while to get my order. Noticed other tables who arrived after getting their noodles first. They brought it out shortly after I asked for the status. The wonton were full of meat - hubs and kiddo couldn't try them as they had shrimp in them (they're allergic). As for the chow fun, enough for kiddo and me to share. They were hot and good. At times, a bit salty but flavorful. We enjoyed our meals. Hubs now wants to return. Note - While we were there, overheard they also ran out of chow fun. So, might want to arrive early if look fun or chow fun is what you want or risk they may have run out.
